Over the last few years the Chestermere Chiefs Community Football Association has expanded. We went from fielding teams for only Atom Football, to teams of hardcore athletes for both Atom and Pee Wee Football. Well it is that time again! Last year we lost athletes from our community to other locations so they could take part in Bantam Football.
This year the opportunity has come up for Chestermere to develop a Bantam team. The Chestermere Chiefs could not be more excited about expanding our club and providing another team for young athletes from our community and surrounding communities to experience the ultimate team sport.
This is where you come in! Do you have an athlete in your home, born in the either 2003, 2004 or 2005 (but not going into Grade 10) that likes, loves or even lives for Football? Perhaps you have an athlete, born in those years, that has thought about playing football but couldn’t decide. Or maybe the athlete in your home is looking to change up their sports activity? The Chestermere Chiefs want to meet them and talk to them about playing the ultimate team sport at the Bantam level.
We all know the benefits of young athletes playing organized sports. Football is no different! A few of the benefits are: your young athlete will gain gridiron experience in preparation for High School football; Football is Chestermere’s lowest priced sport where all equipment (expect cleats) is included; no cuts all players make the team or development squad; youth becomes a member of the Chiefs Family-Once a Chief, Always a Chief; youth will gain a deeper understanding of being a team player and develop lifelong friendships; youth will get to experience what we believe to be the Ultimate Team Sport!
Calgary Bantam Football has given the Chestermere Chiefs a limited amount of time to organize for the 2018 Bantam Season. We currently have over 20 local athletes that are ready to be a part of this next step in expanding our Football Club but we are looking for at least 15 more dedicated young people to take this journey with us(no experience necessary)!
