GIRLS SOCCER
The Lakers had a big win last week. With their 2-0 victory over WH Croxford, last Thursday, the Lakers clinched 2nd place and home field advantage in the semi-finals. The girls will play Springbank on Tuesday. With a win, the girls will be off to their first ever league championship game on Thursday, in Airdrie. The girls are having their best season in school history. Go Lakers!

JUNIOR GIRLS VOLLEYBALL
The JV girls volleyball team had a successful and busy week. The Lakers played an away game in Airdrie against Bert Church, which they won in three straight sets. On Friday morning, the team traveled to Medicine Hat for their second tournament of the season. The girls played very well overall and were eliminated in the semi-finals by Medicine Hat. It was a fantastic opportunity for the team to focus on building communication as they played teams of various skill levels. The coaches would like to recognize the improvements in both blocking and consistent hitting that the team has made over the last few weeks.  Both the team and the coaches would like to thank all the parents for their support during this busy week! This week the girls will play a home game against the third ranked team in the league, George McDougall, at 7:15. Go Lakers! (Written by Coach McLean).

FOOTBALL
The football team hosted Bow Valley, this past Friday, in a first-round playoff game. The Bobcats posted a 28-13 victory. A slow start made it tough for the boys to stay in the game. The team played hard but had a tough time running the ball and stopping the Bow Valley offense. Dakota Konschuh scored on a 5 yard run and a 7 yard touchdown reception from quarterback, Logan Bennett. The team will finish the season in two weeks in a consolation playoff game with WH Croxford. For the seniors this was their final home game of their career. Thanks to Anthony Doyle for taking outstanding pictures this season.

SENIOR GIRLS VOLLEYBALL
The Senior Girls lost 3-0 last week against the Bert Church Chargers. This week the Lakers will host George McDougall. Match time is 6:00. Go Lakers!

SENIOR BOYS VOLLEYBALL
The Senior Boys lost 3-0, last week, to Bert Church. The boys will host George McDougall, this week, to face the Chargers. Match time is 6:00. Go Lakers!

CALGARY COLTS FINISH SEASON
Congratulations to Cowboys alumni, Alen Cekic, Graham Litwiller. Deni Cekic and Reid McRuvie, who finished their season with the Calgary Colts, last weekend. The Colts had a tough season but we are proud that these four young men finished their season in a positive way.
