Chestermere families are invited down for an afternoon of family fun at the Chestermere Regional Recreation Centre Feb. 19.
“There’s always lots of things to do,” said Recreation Program Coordinator Vicki Klinger.
Running from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. this is the fifth annual Family Day event at the recreation centre.
Like in years past there will be a variety of both indoor and outdoor activities for families to participate in.
“We put out board games…I find families come and play games,” said Klinger.
Indoors there will also be arts and crafts, balloon animals, face painting, and an open-mic sing along.
Snacks are provided with free chili and a bun, coffee and hot chocolate and popcorn available through partnerships with the Lions Club and ReMax Real Estate REPS.
The outdoor activities will be weather dependent.
“If the weather cooperated we can have a snow man building contest,” she said.
People are also invited to bring their skates for the outdoor rink and snow shoes or cross-country skis to go explore the recreation centre grounds.
Klinger is also planning on holding an outdoor scavenger hunt at 2 p.m.
She encourages everyone to make sure they dress for the weather conditions so that they can enjoy the outdoor events.
