Residents of Langdon will have access to faster internet speeds with the announcement of Eastlink’s fibre optic network Sept. 20.
“We are really excited to make our Gigabit service available to Langdon,” said Eastlink’s Sales and Marketing Manager Krystina Colicchio in a press release.
The announcement of faster internet for the hamlet comes as internet usage continues to climb at a rate of 40 per cent per year.
Colicchio said that this growth in usage makes access to high-speed internet in smaller rural communities more important than ever.
“With video streaming, music, gaming and emerging connected home technologies driving exponential internet growth, our customers tell us that they want and need increasingly faster internet to run the increasing number of devices and applications in their homes,” she said.
