Chestermere Fire Services (CFS) responded to a vehicle fire at about 8 a.m. on Oakmere Way Feb. 5.
Smoke from the fire could be seen from blocks away prompting the responding fire crew to upgrade the call to a working fire while on route.
“When crews arrived on scene they found a vehicle in the driveway fully involved, which is on fire, and took appropriate steps to put the fire out,” said CFS Chief Brian Pomrenke.
Crews managed to contain the blaze to the vehicle however due to the intensity of the flames there was some damage to the garage.
Pomrenke said that firefighters worked efficiently to extinguish the fire in a timely fashion.
On investigation, it was determined that the fire was caused by an electrical fault in the vehicle.
No one was injured in the incident.
