The Rotary Club of Chestermere was honoured to welcome Conservative MP for Bow River Martin Shields as Guest Speaker at its club meeting on June 27th.
MP Shields addressed the issues surrounding Alberta’s economy in a clear and inspirational speech followed by a Q & A period. Also in attendance was MLA Sharon Aheer representing the UCP Party for Chestermere/Rocky View, City Councillor and current Deputy Mayor Michelle Young and City of Chestermere Manager of Economic Development Catherine Proulx representing the City of Chestermere. With so many representatives in the room at the same time, we just couldn’t resist playing a little game of Fun Facts of Alberta, dividing all of the attendees into 3 groups: Municipal, Provincial and Federal. It was a fierce competition with lots of lively activity and while all 3 teams were outstanding, the Federal Team won the most points scored! Thank you to all of our guests who attended and thank you to Camp Chestermere for hosting a fantastic Breakfast Buffet!
