One man has been charged in relation to a stolen vehicle that RCMP recovered in the Hawkmere area last month.
Twenty-six-year-old Calgarian Mikhail Loskutov was arrested Feb. 1 and has been charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5,000, three counts of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000, and two counts of Failure to Comply with a Recognizance.
The charges stem from a stolen vehicle investigation started Jan. 27 when RCMP recovered a Honda Civic that had been stolen out of Langdon in the Community of Hawkmere.
Subsequent investigation found that the vehicle had a license plate that had been stolen from a car in Calgary.
Loskutov was released on $500 cash bail with conditions.
He is scheduled to appear in Strathmore Provincial Court on Feb. 19.
Chestermere RCMP Detachment Commander Staff Sgt Mark Wielgosz said in a release that police will, “continue to monitor Loskutov’s release conditions as part of a local crime reduction program which targets active property criminals within the City.”
