Project Christmas

Never start your Christmas decorating before December 1… except in a COVID-19 year.  We have begun decorating the Library for Christmas to start spreading the joy of the season. We are finding that just seeing a few Christmas trinkets and sparkles are making a difference in the way we feel. We hope it brings a smile to your face.

We have created a Christmas display featuring cookbooks, crafts and activities to keep us focused on things we can do, leading up to and during the Christmas season. Over the next few weeks, we will be adding more items like Christmas movies and books, including new releases and the classics.

Tech Tutoring

Wednesdays from 6:00 pm to 7:45 pm; Thursdays from 10:00 am to 11:45 am . Call the Library at (403) 272-9025 to register for help with our eResources, general tech questions or help with your device.

Graphic Novels and Manga Club

Love reading Comic Books, Graphic Novels, or Manga? Interested in participating with an online group of people who enjoy it as much as you? Join our Graphic Novels and Manga Club. Open to anyone over the age of 13. We will be enjoying a different theme each month. The theme for November is “Your Favourite Graphic Novel”. Join us on Discord to chat about the books you are reading. Go to our website chestermerepubliclibrary.com to register.

Online Novel Book Club

December 3, 2020 at 7:00 pm

Are you interested in joining an Adult Book Club? Join us monthly from the comfort of your own home. At our December meeting we will be discussing “The Great Alone” by Kristin Hannah. The book is available at the front desk. Audio versions and an e-book are available through Hoopla. Book suggestions are always welcome.

Follow this Zoom link for our meeting: https://zoom.us/j/96635597593?pwd=NWhwdlNia1BGVkJwQXR3WVhhRUFzQT09

Diversity and Inclusion Display. Inclusion is very important to us and we have many books and movies including fiction and non-fiction, for adults and children. The more we learn about other people and the way they live, the easier it is to understand and appreciate our differences. We are adding to this display on a daily basis.

CONTINUE TO PRACTICE PHYSICAL DISTANCING
The Government of Alberta is asking all Albertans to practice physical distancing to help protect yourselves and limit the spread of COVID-19.

As Chestermere is under the Enhanced status, the City of Chestermere has passed the temporary mandatory mask bylaw.  It is required that all patrons over 5 years of age wear masks while inside the Library. No food or drink is allowed in the Library at this time.  We are still offering customized service for any patrons who do not feel safe or comfortable coming all the way in past the front foyer. If you have mobility issues, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.

For more information about what is happening at the Library, check our website. Don’t forget to follow and like us on our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages.
