Merry Christmas to each of you from Seniors Coalition! Stay safe and healthy this season.
They say hindsight is 20/20, and we will all be happy to put 2020 in our hindsight! We all could not imagine last Christmas what lay ahead for each of us around the globe and now with the vaccine light ahead we are grateful for much more simple things in life.
Some wonderful things happening in our community over this season:
- Generous donations of time, money and food have poured into our Chestermere Food Bank and Gift’s of Kindness to support many families less fortunate or may be struggling more through this time. Amazing support!
- Fun Community Initiatives like Skating Rinks, Light the Lake and of course our Amazing lights at John Peake Park are all around us. I hope you have a chance to take a Drive and see the community spirit alive and well!
- In the New Year our Mental Health Coalition will be launching a Wellness Challenge to keep us at our best through January and February 2021. Teams of four will Virtually gain points daily for adding in lifestyle changes around your Fives: Eat Sleep Exercise Play/Work, and Relationships/family. Please go to yoursynergy.ca and tab Wellness Support to find out more. Starts January 18th. Also find our Community Mental Wellness Resources, see poster attached.
CRPCN Updates:
There are 79 active cases of COVID 19 in Chestermere as of Friday Dec 18th, 2020. Please continue to protect yourself and your family’s over the holiday season by following all legal restrictions. Your Dr’s are available for support as well as HealthLink and Emergency should you or loved ones become ill. Please consider Urgent Care in Okotoks or Airdrie for support as well.
Armchair Travel
Armchair Travel is one of the most wonderful ways to look into our fantastic, vast world and learn as much as our hearts desire. We can travel to some of our favourite places without leaving home. Through videos, pod casts, books and music and numerous other ways, we can go to places we have never seen, or only ever dreamed of. This way of travelling is a delightful pastime and is good for the imagination and soul. This form of travel at it’s best, makes us want to go and see for ourselves. After all we are curious individuals and have a thirst for knowledge!
Enjoy sensory and magical experiences as we travel back in time or across the globe, take a trip down memory lane and many more exhilarating moments that will make you smile and fulfill your heart.
Ready? Take the perfect road trip across the world and let’s celebrate the season. Release your childhood memories of Santa Claus and relive those moments in Santa Claus Village in Lapland. The Words Most Magical Towns is worth a visit too, absolutely memorising.
