The first annual Bulls on the Beach event on July 22 received an overwhelming amount of support from Chestermere and area residents with tickets selling out.
Approximately 400 people come out of the event including spectators, volunteers, bull riders, and sponsors.
“The stands were full, people were happy to be out, and the bull riders put on a great show,” said the Rocky View Chestermere Agricultural Society president, Andrea Fleming.
Fleming received feedback from spectators saying how much they enjoyed the event and already wondering when the next Bulls of the Beach will happen.
“This event was important to the community for a number of reasons, it is the first major community event to happen since COVID-19 lockdown so we think people were excited to see neighbours and friends they haven’t been able to visit in a long time,” Fleming said.
The Bulls on the Beach event was the first rodeo-type event to happen in addition to the annual country fair.
“It’s something new to engage many different members of the community. This event epitomizes the community spirit and volunteerism that Chestermere and Rocky View are about,” Fleming said.
Adding, “We were blown away by the dedication and hard work of the volunteers who had a vision and made it happen.”
The Rocky View Chestermere Agricultural Society has been working and planning exciting events and programs coming in the future.
