Enter your biggest pumpkin, best LEGO model, best baking and more in the Chestermere Country Fair!

The Chestermere Country Fair is quickly approaching (September 11, 2021), but there’s still plenty of time to get your children planning their entries into the Red Ribbon Competition.

There is a wide range of categories that children may enter from decorated cupcakes, chocolate chip cookies, bouquets of flowers, sunflowers, wildflower arrangements, crooked carrots, best-dressed vegetable, heaviest zucchini, crochet, knitting, sewing, felting, photography, colouring, painting, dioramas, collages, painted rocks and more! 

For the 2021 Country Fair Red Ribbon Competition, new Junior classes have been created, and they may be found alongside the adult classes under each Section. Some of the Sections have also been revamped for 2021. There are 11 Sections, and almost 500 classes! 

• Baking, 
• Jams, Jellies, & Preserves, 
• Dressings, Sauces, Eggs & Honey, 
• Flowers, 
• Vegetables, Herbs & Fruit, 
• Handicrafts & Fibre Art,  
• Quilting, 
• Photography, 
• Art & Crafts, 
• Wine, 
• Beer

The complete list of categories that children and adults may enter are available on the Rocky View Chestermere Agricultural Society website (www.rvcagsociety.ca).

Entries must be delivered to the Chestermere Rec Centre curling rink entrance area on Friday, September 11th between 11:00 am and 6:00 pm. There is no charge to put your entries into the Red Ribbon competition.   

All 1st, 2nd and 3rd place entries in the Children & Youth Section receive cash prizes and new for 2019 are special cash “Best in Class” prizes for each grade level and Child & Youth Open Sections. The child or youth with the most winning entries overall will also take home a trophy and a special prize! 

What is the Chestermere Country Fair??

The Chestermere Country Fair is Chestermere’s oldest annual event and  2021 is the 32nd anniversary of the Country Fair, hosted by the Rocky View Chestermere Agricultural Society. This year the Country Fair will feature a parade, bike decorating contest, mutton bustin’, pancake breakfast, kids zone, indoor and outdoor Harvest Market, food trucks, and more. Registration forms for the parade, bike decorating contest, mutton bustin’ and harvest markets are available on our website.
