Chestermere Blvd. and Rainbow Road get advance turn signal

The city will monitor traffic flow, and make necessary timing changes

To improve safety on Chestermere Blvd. and Rainbow Road, advance turn signal adjustments were completed.

Chestermere City Council directed city staff during the Oct. 26 Regular Meeting of Council to have a dedicated advance left turn signal in the busy intersection.

Left turns from east and westbound on Chestermere Blvd. onto north or southbound Rainbow Road can only be made when the advance turn signal is on.

Drivers in north and southbound lanes of Rainbow Road can still turn left on a green light to east or westbound on Chestermere Blvd.

Since the city’s traffic signal contractor completed the adjustments on Nov. 17, the city has been monitoring traffic flow and usage and will make timing adjustments as needed.

Updates on construction and road work will be shared on the Capital Project Tracking System map at chestermere.ca/projects.
