Chestermere Dairy Queen supporting children’s hospital through Miracle Treat Day

Chestermere Dairy Queen supporting children’s hospital

Net proceeds from every Blizzard Treat purchased will be donated to one of 12 Children’s hospitals across the country

The Chestermere Dairy Queen is celebrating the 19 annual Miracle Treat Day on Oct. 28, where net proceeds from every Blizzard Treat purchased will be donated to one of 12 Children’s Miracle Network hospitals across Canada.

“Dairy Queen fans in Chestermere are invited to support sick kids by ordering from their local participating Dairy Queen store. Promotions will raise much-needed funds for Alberta Children’s Hospital to support the children and families in need,” said Account Director, Jill Lindsay.

What’s raised locally stays local, so every dollar donated will go directly to the hospital of that community.

“On average, 35,000 children enter a Children’s Miracle Network Member hospital each week. That’s 5,000 per day or 62 per minute. Sick and injured kids need support right now more than ever. Every dollar raised makes an impact on the lives of Canadian children and helps us achieve our ultimate vision if we change the health of children, we will change the health of Canada,” Lindsay said.

Dairy Queen employees, franchisees, volunteers, and stakeholders have worked together throughout the year to help raise funds that allow children’s hospitals to provide the best care possible.

“Since 1984, Dairy Queen has been a top contributor to local children’s hospitals through Miracle Treat Day and other fundraising initiatives. With over $154 million raised in support of sick and injured children being treated at Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals across North America,” Lindsay said.

Although there is not a fundraising goal for Chestermere’s in-store promotion, Miracle Treat Day has been well received by the community in the past years.

“The fundraiser is received well as Chestermere residents come together to enjoy their favourite treats from DQ in support of an important cause,” Lindsay said.
