Jean Soderberg passed away peacefully August 18, 2008 at the Mount Royal Care Centre at the age of 95. She was predeceased by her husband Gordon Soderberg on October 8, 2000. Jean is survived by her two sons and their wives
Ken and Terry Anne Soderberg, and Eric and Lori Soderberg, all of Conrich; five grandchildren Kimberly Soderberg McRae (Ed) of Chestermere, Shelley Anger (Dave) of Calgary, Tracy Soderberg, Shawn Soderberg and Kristen Soderberg, all of Conrich, Vi- olet Wilson, sister-in-law, Fred and Jean Soderberg, brother-in-law & sister-in-law, as well as a large ex- tended family.
Jean was also predeceased by her parents Will and Jane Wilson; her brothers and sister and their spouses Bill & Marion Wilson, Katherine & Alex Robertson, and Jim Wilson.
Born August 17, 1913, in Coronation, AB, Jean was raised in the Coronation and Veteran area and spent much of her time in Calgary where she attended school. After meeting and falling in love with Gordon Soderberg, they were married in 1936 and moved to the farm.
Jean was a typical mother chauffeuring her boys from place to place and enjoying their busy lives. She was active throughout her life and enjoyed many op- portunities to travel with Gordon. Jean curled, was an avid Bridge player, and was a member of the Chestermere Whitecappers. A great cook, Jean also enjoyed music, had a fondness for animals, debated politics, loved conversation and could always be found cheering on the Calgary Stampeders and Flames. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
A special thank you is extended to the staff and ad- ministration of Mount Royal Care Centre for tending to Jean and her needs during her stay.
A memorial service will be held at Mountain View Funeral Home, 17 Avenue & Garden Road on Friday, on September 5th at 2:00 pm with Evelyn Buckley, DD, officiating.
